hoofie, I read the original article by some right wing pundit making this comparison, and wondered how anybody could be fooled by it. But apparently, lots of people were. Lots of people believe anything, if it fits their preconceived notions.
That $40 was PER WEEKLY PAYCHECK. $40 times 52 weeks = $2080 per year. Year after year after year after year, etc.
That $1000 bonus is a one-time thing. That's why it's a "BONUS", instead of a WAGE INCREASE.

There was a prior tax cut that was set to expire. So no one actually 'received" this $40, their taxes didn't go up by that much. I hate the way both sides spin the information to fit a political agenda. Also, the fact that she called $1,000 'crumbs' is overly boorish. That's real money to a lot of people.

Another Mass Shooting,,,
Time to Ban Bump Stocks, assault rifles Silencers, Close the Private Sale Loophole, Require all sales to go through an FFL, include mental health records and military records in the background checks. place limits on how many firearms can be bought in a single sale and place limits on magazine size and how much ammo that can be possessed at any one time, and require ammo sales to check firearms permit and drivers license and require firearms owners to lock up ammo and firearms when not in use.

Another Mass Shooting,,, Time to Ban Bump Stocks,- in the works, but only used in one recent incident. assault rifles- not a legal term, but tried in the 90s and failed to produce measurable results. Silencers, -already highly restricted Close the Private Sale Loophole, -will not stop black market sales and will probably increase them.
Require all sales to go through an FFL, - will not stop black market sales and will probably increase them. include mental health records and military records in the background checks. -Already in place
place limits on how many firearms can be bought in a single sale -Will this prevent mass shootings? and place limits on magazine size -already in place in several states and localities with no positive outcome and how much ammo that can be possessed at any one time, -how would you enforce this? and require ammo sales to check firearms permit -That would require all fire arms to be registered which will never happen and drivers license -This might help trigger investigations, similar to prescription drug data bases (and the best possible solution on this list) and require firearms owners to lock up ammo and firearms when not in use. -this has been discussed in the past, but not sure if enforcement is constitutionally possible.See my responses in red above.

if guns are a right then healthcare should be a right as well so the victims of these mass shootings don't need to set up a go fund me account to pay their medical bills (which funds are taxable btw) and if the mass shooter has an estate or in the case of a minor the parents, then that estate should be forfeited to the government to offset the medical bills and / or burial costs of the victims.
