In the 1940's Gerald Ford did a bit of modeling and even posed on the cover of "Cosmopolitan." His wife Betty was also a dancer and fashion model, who signed with the John Robert Powers modeling firm to finance her dance education.

Actually, there are quite a few more. It's an important piece of research in determining the level of an animal's self-awareness and mental capabilities. Among others who recognize themselves in a mirror: other apes, elephants, orcas and dolphins, parrots and magpies. The standard experiment is to paint a dot on top of the animal's head. Animals that recognize themselves in a mirror will feel for the dot on their own head, or try to scrape it off. Our cat, may he RIP, came across a full length mirror standing on the floor when he was still a kitten. He would look at the image, and thought another cat was behind the glass, so he would walk around to the back to find it. After a few days he became frustrated with it and for the rest of his life would no longer look at his own image. If you picked him up and held him looking toward the mirror, he would squirm until he got his head turned away from the mirror. He did however understand the image of others in the mirror. He would position himself so he could watch you in a mirror, and he thought you couldn't see him doing it. If you were in a straight line of sight, he wouldn't watch you, he would turn his back on you. Mirrors, I think, are quite a window into an animal's mind.
