There was a war, Israel won. That's how most wars work: the winner chooses the outcome. The US still has a huge military presence in Germany and Japan from WWII. In my opinion, we should have stayed in Iraq in the same manner, and our presence would help stabilize the region. Actually there were three wars. At the end of the British mandate and the beginning of the the UN partition when Israel declared it's statehood, the Arabs attempted to obliterate the new nation but instead lost much land to the new country. The 6 Day War in 1967 where Israel was again attacked by many Arab countries but ended up driving out and occuppying the territories previously occuppied by Syria, Jordan and Eygpt. Then there was the Yom Kippur War of 1973 against almost the same countries. Some more land was lost.

All y'all are missing the point. If the entire world pulled away from either supporting or condemning war in the Middle East there would still be war. You put the light on the US for killing women and children and forget the millions of men women and children killed by the twelve tribes over thousands of years. We are but a puff of smoke in the scheme of things.
Was will continue in the Middle East.

We are but a puff of smoke in the scheme of things. Was will continue in the Middle East. Nobody is missing the point. Yes, the middle east has been a mess for a long time. But, when we get involved we cause more problems in the form of terrorists. Let's say we kept our nose out of the whole thing from the start. We did not help Israel and we just stayed away and minded our own business. Do you think perhaps we might not have created terrorists who attack us? Do you think perhaps that we would be better for it? If I saw you walking down the street and I just walked up, said nothing and gave you a left hook to the jaw... What would be your response? And don't try and play the king of the moral high road here either. I can tell you are christian and I live where there is a church on every corner. And if I did that to anyone here I would get that right back. So the point the right for sure misses is just that. We can't go around the world and bully everyone into Democracy (which is funny to me when we are a representative Republic but whatever) and not expect to get punched back. That's the way it works. We are only right here right now talking about the middle east because we have been bullies and the bullied are now biting back and we cry foul? Sorry, punch me in the mouth and you will be punched back. Should I expect less of others?

They kicked the crap out of the Arab bullies for trying to destrot their new nation. With two repeats since then the Arabs just might have learned their lesson.

But we get involved and we punch and we get sour when we get punched back. That's life and the right missing that point (among many more).
