Let's discuss just one of entimos apparently endless supply of sweeping generalizations.
Does anyone else feel the "christian" love being spread with entimos broad brush?
Do I hear an "AMEN"?
How about a "PRAISE THE LORD?

I of course agree that when Democrats control places, they can destroy the place. Detroit Michigan is a great example.
But I would not kick 24 million people off insurance because of Detroit.

How about a "PRAISE THE LORD? I'm not sure an "AMEN" is appropriate, but Entimos does shine a light on the problem and more importantly, the cause.

He painted with a very broad brush, but the message come through. Look at the statistics of single parent families from 1960s to today. The 'war on poverty' as declared by President Johnson has done nothing but create a poor, dependent culture of unwed mothers. Remember the quote attributed to Johnson: ...."I'll have those n***s voting Democrat ............".
Look past Detroit, to other Democrat controlled cities: New Orleans, Chicago, Baltimore. Connect the dots. Some on the left claim they want to help others. What they mean is help to others with someone else's money, namely, the government. The best jobs to create, in their minds, are government jobs, because they do good by helping others with tax dollars and giving someone else a government job that is unlikely to end.
So now, as a result of the war on poverty, the poverty level is still about the same, but the number of single parent families has more than tripled, and, there are over 70 federal programs to help the poor. Why is this, you ask? The incentive, in the form of more assistance ($$$$), is to be a single parent household. In essence, by removing the fish from the water you think you save it from drowning.

I agree with you. But: The government is going to steal money from you anyways (I believe tax is theft). So if they are going to take money from all people, why should that money not go to help people? It's like my home, I tell my wife all the time, if I miss paying taxes the real owners will come and get it. Since we cannot escape government theft, then I live by the idea of that stolen money going to help the people. And we do have women in this country who make a career out of popping out kids. I think something should be done about that. Unmarried and keep having kids? Mandated tubes tied or something. I have no respect for women who do that and strap men with financial responsibility while they themselves drink or do drugs and let the kids just run free. That makes me sick.

Looks like Snake has abandoned his own thread. C'mon, man. I would be interested in his thoughts, especially if he thinks that my statement above, while admittedly broad, is somehow not accurate. I for one would like to find a way to help the black community to return to its Christian, strong family roots.

Looks like Snake has abandoned his own thread. C'mon, man. Sorry I don't stop by every day but the real world intrudes. In addition to looking at cities run by Democrats maybe we should look at entire states run by Republicans and religious zealots. How are Alabama, Louisiana and Mississippi doing? They consistently rank at or near the bottom in Education, health care, and personal income and state economic success. At least they're tops in church attendance. They are welfare states full of people that complain about welfare for individuals. All three receive more money from the Federal govt than they pay in. All three depend on money coming from the more educated and progressive states like California and New York to keep their infrastructure and quality of life from falling completely into the third world. People who believe the world is 6000 years old obviously can't compete in the tech revolution. People who wave the confederate flag certainly don't attract industries that need anything but manual labor. But, hey, at least you folks still go to church and bravely fight ungodly behavior like equal rights for people who aren't White and/or don't conform to you ideas of moral behavior. Continue to vote Republican and go to church, don't think about that has worked out so far. Can I have a praise the lord? Can I have an amen?

Last I checked, there are 50 states. Texas is a very successful Red state, is industry friendly, farming friendly, has no state income tax. The 3 states mentioned by Mr. Bit have a long history of oppression to over come, Alabama and Mississippi more so than Louisiana. Louisiana's history is based more on corruption and tax abuse on big business. Right now, oil rig counts in the Gulf are rising except for Louisiana waters. There are too many lawsuits from the state filed against the industry that creates an unnecessary risk for them.
But that is another topic.
Tell us how the great blue commune of California is working out? Businesses are leaving that state for red ones.

The "great Blue commune" seems to be doing just fine- www.mercurynews.com/2016/07/05/californias-economy-is-bigger-than-all-but-five-nations-world-bank-data-says/Certainly there are businesses that don't need an educated work force and aren't concerned with bigotry (lots of immigrants, non Whites gays in high tech companies) are moving to low tax, low quality of life Red states but overall California apparently is attracting more businesses than it is losing- www.scpr.org/news/2015/04/07/50825/the-myth-of-businesses-leaving-southern-california/You can't believe everything you read in the alt right media hoofie.

Turns out the Snake is correct. We'll see if LA's $15/hour minimum wage sticks. With everything inflated it will probably inflate the cost of living as well. So explain how this helps the poor, which is your thread topic. California has some of the highest taxes in the country. Compare to Tennessee and North Carolina, which are also business friendly and growing, but with lower taxes.
But again, the poor and disadvantaged: Have higher school drop out rates, why? No father figure in the home? Parents set bad example? They have a higher rate of unemployment: Well, with no high school diploma, strike one. Criminal record, strike 2. Poor life choices (facial tattoos & piercings, drug abuse), strike 3.
The government can't fix this, as proven by over 75 failed programs to fight poverty.

Looks like between you and entimos you have all the answers. What I don't understand is why states that lead in embracing religion and Republican politics also trail the rest of the nation in education and economic progress and lead in ignorance, poverty and bigotry. You deplore anti poverty programs while ignoring the fact that you would be living in third world society if it weren't for the huge transfer of federal funds from Blue states to Red. The people in these states are all welfare recipients, it's just that the welfare dollars go to your state governments rather than directly to you people. Seriously hoofie if you want to talk about North Carolinas economic success can we also talk about the hundreds of millions if not billions of dollars the state lost because of the rabid anti LGBT bigotry and ignorance of the Evangelical community and Republican politicians in the state? Yuppers Cletus, Republicans and xian religion are the answer no matter what the question.

There is a lot of dumb, religious people in this area. Man goes into the doctor using the expanded medical under the ACA. He complains about the ACA and the doctor has to explain to him he would not have insurance if it wasn't for the democrats. People here simply vote with the church. The hypocrites that vote to kick other people off programs they need. To all that offends, sorry, that's true.

Apparently, osha, you don't understand. The views of snakebit and yourself aren't of a level to really offend. Maybe humor is a better term. So I would be right if I understood thing like this? HAHAHA old geezers having SS reduced? HAHAHA poor bums kicked of insurance? HAHAHA less food for brats? I don't get where any of that is humor. And that is very much right wing ideology propelled by the church. Sorry, I don't buy into that idea. I would be willing to, any day of the week, any hour of the day, take my morals and compare them to the morally bankrupt church of today. I love others and care. Hard concept for the church I know, but again, true. And sorry, I am %1000 right and there is not a soul that can prove me wrong. Not to offend here again.
