The gunman who opened fire at a GOP baseball practice in Virginia Wednesday morning has been identified as Illinois resident James T. Hodgkinson, according to a report.
Hodgkinson, 66, of Belleville, Ill., owns a home inspection business, though his license expired in November 2016 and was not renewed, the Washington Post reported.
He was charged in April 2006 with battery and aiding damage to a car in Illinois — charges that were dismissed.
Hodgkinson allegedly used an M-4 assault rifle to squeeze off as many as 60 shots at lawmakers, according to CBS News.
A Facebook page belonging to a James T. Hodgkinson shows him as politically active, with several photos of former presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
On March 22, Hodgkinson wrote in a post, “Trump is a Traitor. Trump Has Destroyed Our Democracy. It’s Time to Destroy Trump & Co.” and linked to a petition calling for the removal of President Trump.

Of course the shooter is a democrat just like if the victims are democrats the shooter would likely be republican.
This proves my point and I rest my case.
This is what happens when you try and gut benefits and healthcare from the masses while claiming it's the Christian thing to do.
This guy just took his anger to an extreme level. There are always options to use before violence.
This country is still a democratic society even if it's just barely at the moment.
We need to fight using democratic means.

But the difference is that the Republicans aren't shooting Democrats, just as there haven't been any Ferguson style GOP riots when we don't get what we want.
"Antifa", Black Bloc, BLM......ALL violent and all on the far left.
Sorry to disagree, but the "gut benefits and healthcare from the masses" excuse is not correct, because it's not happening. Many of the conservative proposals are to simply reduce the growth rate of a program that may only provide 30% of its incoming funds to anyone in need.
No, the motivation of the shooting was simple and straightforward....it came from the instinctive hatred that many on the far left have now embraced.
Violence now seems to be a mainstream liberal "value".

This isn't the time for divisiveness; this is a time to recognize our unity.
For all the noise and fury, we are a family. An attack on one of us is an attack on all of us. -- House Speaker Paul Ryan

Unity through gunfire. LOL. I love it. Tragedy has historically brought us together... Unity after 9/11:
