Today’s Sunday reading Poster BoyVast Document Leak Exposes Over 120,000 offshore companies and trusts WASHINGTON — A massive trove of secret documents exposing the world of offshore finance favored by the rich has been made public by the International Consortium of Investigative Journalists. The leak goes to the heart of a vast offshore financial system based entirely on secrecy that has never been breached at this scale. Weighing in at 260 gigabytes, the data is 160 times larger than the State Department cables that WikiLeaks published in 2010. The files were mailed to ICIJ on a computer flash drive; the identity of the sender is not clear. They comprise financial details from over 120,000 offshore companies, according to ICIJ. www.buzzfeed.com/rosiegray/vast-document-leak-exposes-world-offshore-economy-of-the-meg Links: Secret Files Expose Offshore’s Global Impact www.icij.org/offshore/secret-files-expose-offshores-global-impact Various articles: INSIDE THE GLOBAL OFFSHORE MONEY MAZE - Who Uses the Offshore World - Lawyers and Accountants Help Rich Manage Their Money - Front Men Disguise the Offshore Game's Real Players More: www.icij.org/offshore See also, in retrospect: Where the Money Lives Nicholas Shaxson delves into the murky world of offshore finance, revealing loopholes that allow the very wealthy to skirt tax laws, and investigating just how much of Romney’s fortune (with $30 million in Bain Capital funds in the Cayman Islands alone?) looks pretty strange for a presidential candidate.

So, tell me, what Republican has any respect for the millions of Americans who have a job, work day in and day out, but are paid a pittance because of how the rich elite have seized control of the levers of power in government, finance, and the media?
There is the false caricature that all the so-called poor have wide screen TVs in their free housing, free phones, generous food stamp allotments allowing them to load up on steak, lobster, liquor and cigarettes, and they generally are just “takers” who live a life of leisure on the backs of the supposed “makers.” Facts say otherwise.
Stay blind or open your eyes.

Envy?
Excellent dog whistle phrase. The selection of the meme is especially demeaning, though, toward the people who have had their livelihoods stomped on by unrestrained capitalism.
Then I guess the reverse is true: The rich don't have any envy toward people who have to struggle to find jobs at vastly decreased wages and evaporating benefits, because those same rich have increased their wealth by moving or destroying the jobs that job seekers no longer have?
Now comes the meme of "personal responsibility," I suppose?

That's because of the narrow minds conservatives are cursed with.
They can't tell the difference between civic involvement and concern for the well-being of your fellow human beings, and
ROBBERY.
Even though, if the scab is peeled back robbery is how most of them made their fortunes.
"I stole it nice and legal, and you can't have any."So what are you going to do about it? Nothing! Because you can't - the law allows me to steal from you off anytime I want. NYAH, NYAH, NYAH.

Who did Bill Gates steal from? Who did Paul Allen steal from? Who did Tiger Woods steal from? Who did Jeff Gordon steal from? That's a mighty big brush you're painting with.

You think I included those you mentioned in my comments. You cannot tell the difference between a person being well-compensated for his talents and efforts, and a pirate who uses the lawmakers and their laws to say it's OK for him to steal.

Ah, so that's how the Kennedy family got their free pass. Presidents generally get a "free pass" to ride Air Force One. Here's one with the official approval stamp and everything.

It would have been different story if, instead of an accidental drowning, the victim had been shot in the head.Except in this case, nothing happened. Not even a court case. Oil money can buy things more precious than gold.

Jobs stole apple os from xerox, gates then stole apple os from Jobs and modified it's code to create windows. then they are bitch, moan and whine about software piracy when they were/are two of the biggest pirates around. watch TNT's "The Pirates of silicone valley"
