how long we going to let this go on before we all agree that thoughts and prayers are not working?
when will we start to address this through federal policy?

What do you suggest beyond the 10,000 or so existing gun laws? There are 200,000,000 firearms in this country so there's no way to round them up. There are 38,000 firearm deaths per year (average 104 per day) as compared to 480,000 tobacco related deaths (average 1,315 per day) and federal, local, and state controlled entities tax, license and control the tobacco industry. www.cdc.gov/tobacco/data_statistics/fact_sheets/fast_facts/index.htmThere are approximately 250,000 deaths per year (685 per day) attributed to medical errors. Medical professionals are licensed and regulated by federal and state entities. www.npr.org/sections/health-shots/2016/05/03/476636183/death-certificates-undercount-toll-of-medical-errorsI'm open for suggestions, but there are more ways to die in this country than by firearm. About half of the 38,000 firearm deaths per year are self inflicted which skews the numbers down considerably.

Bring back the death penalty for gun related crimes that result in someones death, improve mental health services for everyone, and some common sense gun regulation and maybe it wouldn't be as bad as it is now.
some common sense gun regulation is background checks on every sale including private sale and include state mental health records search in that check and require every firearm owner have a gun safe and keep the firearms and ammo locked up when not in use and require ID and copy of gun permit to purchase ammo. keep ban Ban on silencers, ban bump stocks, and assault style weapons, keep ban on fully automatic weapons.
we don't need 10k plus gun laws just some common sense national gun regulation and the states should have reciprocity, your permit in one state for be good in another state just like a Drivers License.
and then free health care for life for the victims of gun crimes. victims of gun crimes should not have to setup a go fund me account to get healthcare for something that was not their fault.
it turns my stomach when you see on the news another mass shooting and the victims of the crime have to setup crowdfunding accounts to pay their outrageous medical costs!!!
