To be honest, I didn't watch much local news when I lived there. Mostly DirecTV and talk radio. Also, most weeks was out of town 3-4 nights a week.
Befriending that bird is an awesome story. My wife would have loved following that story.

I moved here from McCalla, AL and worked in Birmingham. Moved there in 2002 from Summit, Mississippi. I watch very little local news here in Lafayette, though I read local news on line and listen to KPEL talk radio during the day. I didn't realize that story was local for me. I thought it was in Tuscaloosa. DOH! Getting old is bullisht.
