They're driving us mad with this Wuhan Coronavirus scare. We have become crazy.
The other day, I went to the restroom at a restaurant. I washed my hands, opened the stall door with my elbow. I raised the toilet seat with my foot and afterwards I flushed the toilet with my foot. I turned on the water faucet with a tissue and washed my hands. Then I opened the restroom door with my shoulder to leave and when I returned to my table, I realized ...
... I forgot to zip up my pants!

Coronavirus is here too.
At first, spring break for students was extended to 2 wks, and faculty were told to use the time to prepare to deliver classes online, just in case. A few days into the break, all classes on campus were cancelled for the rest of the semester. Needless to say, it hasn't been a break for the teachers. Classes online start Monday, and I'm definitely not ready yet. I think it's a bigger leap for me than for most, because I never got involved with online social media.
So I haven't gone into town for 2 weeks. It hasn't been boring; it has been a lot harder work than my usual work of teaching classes and all the other college busy-ness we have to do. It's just as well - they say the virus is pretty hazardous for people my age. The "President's Guidelines" tell me to stay at home and away from other people.
This isn't as rewarding as it used to be. I'm beginning to think maybe I'll hang up the old cap and gown for good.
