little more research shows this is california doing this. no surprise. still just as wrong though. there seems to be an attack on the american working class and middle class and poor and elderly

It was actually floated through the House of Reps. There's no way they will ever end the "mandatory" overtime requirements. I however do offer my workers the option of time off and most of them use it. This is done case by case, and most would rather have a Friday off or Half day Friday instead of the OT. This probably wouldn't work in a large structured manufacturing facility, but it works for me.
I also will pay any un-used sick pay on the first week of December. Since everyone gets 5 days, this can add up to a weeks pay extra.
