What a heart warming story and sad. One of the best writeups about a mother I have ever seen.
And really, this hits me to the core. As a person who grew up with a childhood I would never wish on a soul, I wonder if people are capable of unconditional love. And when I say this, I mean love for others.
We are taught at a young age to play fair. To give everyone the benefit of the doubt and to never make fun of those whom are less fortunate and to never brag about what we have compared to others. We learn morals, with no political agenda tied to these morals but morals from a perspective of we are all equal.
Why is it in politics we go against everything we are taught when we are kids? Why is the word fair all the sudden some word that represents something from an age gone by? Why do we want the bigger house or the better car or the bigger checking account so we can be better then everyone else while not understanding the pains of others? Why can't we care about those around us and want the best for everyone as we were taught when we were kids?
I think political ideology is one of those things that crushes our being to the core. We can believe something is wrong, take abortion for instance. I am very much against abortion on a personal level but feel I have no right to force my beliefs on others. I would not vote in a way to support the way I feel about abortion while at the same time kicking people off medical, taking food out of a childs mouth, telling older people to live on less, growing the military when we already spend more then the next 3 nations combined and so on. Why is it that we have to sacrifice so much to achieve so little? Why can we not have compassion for those whom need the compassion?
That's always been my issue to the core. I am centrist and I live with the live and let live ideology. I don't believe in kicking those who are down and I live a very modest life. Yes, the wages of my household goes a long way in dictating my lifestyle, but I don't think the core of who I am as a person can ever be destroyed. I love people and care deeply for people. Because I am people and the struggles of other people are my struggles. And I believe this with all my heart.
Let's all try to remember what our parents taught us. Be fair.... Because if we are not being fair, we are serving dis justice to someone whom might not deserve such. And we are making our own lives much harder by not living the burdens that our fellow brothers and sisters suffer.
Love all regardless of who you are. This is the way forward and this is the way we solve many problems.
