They have turned all of their employees to part-time, no benefits. Some of these folks have worked there their entire careers. What's the message? "You can work here, but we won't pay you enough to shop here."?
Plenty of other places to shop and good riddance to bad rubbish.

It's getting harder and harder to find an "affordable" place to shop. Food World WAS our go to to store. Not any more. We don't realy do Walmart. Publix is too expensive and usually so is Winn-Dixie. Might have to drive to Woodstock like we used to every so often when they had a good meat sale. ARGH!!! We know so many people who work at Food World. This so sucks!!! On another note...Food Word is a Union shop. I wonder how they're getting away with it.

i been saying this for 10 years. corporate america has no conscience or sense of social responsibility to neither their customers or employees.
if just a handful of corporations would put people before profits they wouldn't have to worry about a ROI as they would be rolling in profits because people would dump the competition for the company showing a good sense of customer service and social responsibility.
if i had the start up funds i would start a company based on that very principal.

I posted this just now on their FB page, let's see how long it stays up. "Best wishes to those affected by "right sizing", it's a shame when employees with proven customer service skills and longevity have their hours cut so middle management can continue to thrive."

As far as I can tell, they deleted it within 24 hours.

I'm a South's Finest regular. The Buddy's and Quick And Easy are gas station convenience stores. And hasn't Abernathy's been closed for years?

South's Finest is great on their frozen foods. Some of their other stuff is a little high. But they're always running some sort of specials.

I've been in there several times though the years and, honestly, I just couldn't find anything I was interested in purchasing. My son loves their frozen chicken fingers and they have awesome eggrolls (not the ones in the bag). I also get their frozen veggies because they are cheaper than the grocery store brands. I've used the mixed veggies to make soups and fried rice. Their "Pick 5" sometimes has good deals...not always though. Here's this weeks specials for anyone that might be interested. www.southsfinestmeats.com//sale.pdf
