The latest from NWS shows storms entering our area by 11:00 pm. www.srh.noaa.gov/bmx/?n=hwo"THERE IS A CHANCE OF SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS WITH DAMAGING WINDS AND ISOLATED TORNADOES LATE TONIGHT AFTER 11 PM ACROSS THE FAR WEST PORTION OF CENTRAL ALABAMA AND WEST OF A CORDOVA TO LINDEN LINE."

I usually try to keep an eye on the NWS/NOAA radar out of Jackson when severe weather approaches. This radar system outlines the warning polygons in red for tornadoes, yellow for severe thunderstorms, and green for flooding. If I see yellow or red boxes popping up south and southwest on I59/20, we usually put our plan in action. radar.weather.gov/radar.php?rid=dgx&product=N0R&overlay=11101111&loop=no

The threat level has been reduced and the storms are so far away. I think we'll get some morning rain and that's it.

April 19, 2013 8:30 AM - The temperature has been dropping steadily since sunrise, from 52 to the present temperature of 48. How low will it go? Who knows? The heat is on, and it's coming up on the fourth week in April.
At this rate, we'll have to wear our thermal underwear and arctic parkas to participate in outdoor Fourth of July activities!

I've pulled out the Christmas carols.
No point in thinking about an outside barbecue right now.
Like great-granddaddy used to say, "It's cold enough to kill a hog!"

At the softball game last night the wind chill and lower temperatures made a lot of folks leave ( including me ) before the game ended.

Talked to my sister this morning in Arkansas. She said it was in the 40's and dropping. Said there was snow in Northern Akransas. This is nuts.
